Shynne's engagement with synthetic biology stems from a fundamental drive to explore the natural world and translate scientific understanding into tangible benefits for communities. As an undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a specialization in microbiology, her academic profile also encompasses a thesis in neurology, reflecting her wide-ranging scientific interests. She embodies a clear vision: to advance rigorous inquiry and ensure that scientific progress directly serves society.
In the ML x SynthBio Fellowship, her practical experience includes beginner proficiency in computational science and foundational background in bioinformatics. Shynne initially cultivated her computational science proficiency through work involving machine learning for farming tools, aiming to increase crop yield. This foundational experience in coding now underpins her skills. This is further complemented by a foundational background in bioinformatics acquired in the university.
