PEOPLE
Get to know Eiroll
We’re excited to introduce Eiroll, a Master of Science in Biology student at Pampanga State Agricultural University, and one of the fellows of the ML x Synthetic Biology Fellowship. Eiroll’s academic focus spans advanced cell and molecular biology. His upcoming thesis explores engineering Escherichia coli K-12 MG1655 strains for lycopene production, reflecting his growing interest in metabolic engineering and synthetic biology.
Prior to joining the fellowship, Eiroll worked as a Science Research Assistant in several agricultural and bioengineering projects funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD) and Department of Agriculture (DA-BAR). His experience includes genomic characterization of tamarind varieties, development of alternative feeds for poultry, and morphological database management, coupled with administrative and technical skills gained from project implementation.
Eiroll’s journey into bioengineering is driven by a clear aspiration: to contribute solutions that address agricultural and sustainability challenges through programmable biology. His interest in machine learning stems from its potential to enhance experimental design, optimize biological circuits, and accelerate discovery in synthetic biology.
By joining the ML x Synthetic Biology Fellowship, Eiroll hopes to integrate computational tools into his research work and develop a deeper understanding of how intelligent systems can drive innovation in bioengineering. Through this experience, he aims to refine his skills, expand his interdisciplinary perspective, and contribute meaningfully to the growing synthetic biology community.
